Below is a list of the costume requirements for all Reverie Chorus Line routines. Every routine will use these guidelines, so if you want to perform with us again in the future, you will be using all of these items again!

Below are some suggested options for the base costume pieces, but you are not required to buy from those brands or websites as long as you follow the guidelines listed.

Base Costume:

• Shoes: t-strap character shoes, 2” heel, gold. Buy the “nude” color heels, and paint them gold.

  • $66.00 option from Capezio

  • $42.55 option from Theatricals

  • $7.95 gold paint. “18k Gold” is the *required* color. Please do not use a substitute for this!

  • You can paint them gold yourself, or if you don’t want to buy the paint, bring the heels to Jasmine and she will paint them for you and return them to you at the next rehearsal.

  • If a 2” heel is prohibitive for the dancer, shorter heels can be substituted as long as the shoe is gold. Contact Jasmine for some suggestions for lower heeled shoes.

• Leotard: black, tank, scoop neck (no thin camisole straps, or sweetheart or V neckline). Needs to cover all undergarments, front and back.

• $28.00 option from Capezio (up to a 43” hip) 

• $19.50 option from Theatricals (up to a 43” hip)

• $22.95 option from Theatricals (43” - 48” hip)

• $19.98 option from Eurotard (up to 53” hip)

• If a leotard isn’t feasible for you, you can substitute in a black tank top and a pair of black shorts or other short bottoms.

• Tights: fishnet, seamless, in dancer’s skin tone.

• $36.00 option from Capezio (10 colors, up to a 3XL)

• $22.00 option from Body Wrappers (6 colors, up to a 4XL) 

• $21.00 option from Capezio (limited colors and sizing)

• $13.59 option from Sansha (limited colors and sizing) 

• Optional:

  • Black shorts under the skirt if desired by dancer for modesty. Your choice of style and length as long as they are shorter than the provided costume skirt.

  • Black face mask if desired by dancer.

  • Long sleeve shirt and/or leggings in the dancer’s skin tone, under the other costume pieces, if desired by dancer for modesty.

Makeup:

• Required:

• True red lipstick in a non-shiny finish (no lip gloss). Lipstick is not required if a face mask is worn.

• Allowed:

• Eyeshadow in neutral colors (browns, tans, etc). Some shimmer or metallic is okay as long as it isn’t too intense.

• Mascara, eyeliner, and false eyelashes in black or brown.

• Foundation, concealer, blush, and other complexion products.

Accessories:

• Allowed:

• All permanently or semi-permanently installed jewelry.

• Earrings that are close to the earlobe, like studs or small hoops.

• Not allowed:

  • Rings, bracelets, necklaces, or earrings that dangle.

  • If any of this is a concern for you, please let me know and I am happy to discuss and find something that works.

Hair:

• Styled off the neck and away from the face in a low style (such as a bun or chignon) if possible.

• Exceptions to this include hair that can’t be styled in this way, such as textured hair, protective hairstyles, short hair, or head coverings. In these cases, please reach out and we will find something that works best for you!
